Lukashenko signed decree on social support for certain categories of citizens

On April 15th, President of Belarus Aleksandr Lukashenko signed Decree No. 149 On Social Support for Certain Categories of Citizens, sb.by reports with reference to the Belarusian leader’s press service

The document was adopted to prevent restrictions on the pension rights of citizens permanently residing in Belarus.

The decree envisages the inclusion of periods of military service in the territories of the Latvian and Estonian SSR – formerly part of the USSR – in the length of service when assigning pensions in Belarus. This will increase pensions for approximately 180 Belarusian citizens.
