Lukashenko: if someone comes with war to us, we can fight back

The President said this today at a meeting on military security issues at the Defence Ministry’s Strategic Control Centre. The Head of State noted that, in addition to the situation on the western border, it is also necessary to take into account the exercises codenamed Polissye which are in place in Ukraine.

“I want to stress once again: we are not brandishing our arms. We understand what war looks like. Many of us have survived the hardships of the post-war years when, naked and undressed, we had to live virtually in dugouts. We don't want any wars. We are not a rich country. We have never been rich, so we do not need others’ wealth and territories. We simply want to master this land properly. Therefore, if someone wants to talk to us as peaceful people, you are welcome! From today on, we are ready to talk. But if someone comes to us with a sword or a gun, we have something to fight back with,” Aleksandr Lukashenko said.
