“Some might say: ‘Look at Lukashenko, how long he will be in power…’ Listen, I am already sick and tired of this. I do not even know by means of what I’m here… There will be soon thirty years of my staying on the lookout day and night,” the Belarusian leader noted.

“On the other hand, I think: ‘Well, ok. I might leave everyone, and nobody will cast a stone at me, by and large’. But what will happen to you? Where is the guarantee that... Well, we will bring normal people – we still have enough of them – to power, but where is the guarantee that they will retain this power? Where is this guarantee? There is none. And then your skin will begin to be peeled off slowly – from the bottom up or from the top down. How will I live then, if I will be alive? Or how will my children live if I am not here? They are all time next to me, in the service,” Aleksandr Lukashenko shared his thoughts.

“You have no idea what kind of pressure I am experiencing – primarily, from your side. I am afraid to set you up. I think: you are on the barricades and you support me from there, making some kind of idol out of me, and so on. How can I set you up – real civil servants who are rooting for the country. You cannot imagine, this is the most responsible matter,” the Head of State stressed.
