Golovchenko: we stand for qualitative improvement in EAEU efficiency

Roman Golovchenko expressed satisfaction with the economic stability of the EAEU five member states, despite external destructive pressure. In particular, the Belarusian PM positively assessed the growth of mutual trade in the EAEU, “In January-March 2023, the volume of mutual trade exceeded $20m – 20 percent up compared to the same period last year.”

Speaking about the achievements of the EAEU countries, the PM drew attention to the contingency of economic success within the union with its external partners, “We have already stepped up work to achieve in the near future such important goals as technological sovereignty, transport and logistics self-sufficiency and integration of the EAEU transport infrastructure into the global logistics system.”

The meeting of the Eurasian Intergovernmental Council is being held on June 7th–9th in Sochi. The prime ministers of the EAEU member states will be reported on the progress in removing barriers within the framework of the functioning of the EAEU internal market, as well as on the creation and development of transport infrastructure on the EAEU territory in the East-West and North-South directions. The agenda also includes an action plan for the development of electronic document management at sea checkpoints of the EAEU states for 2023–2025, monitoring the assessment of the regulatory impact of draft EEC decisions in 2022, etc.
