After a meeting with the President’s participation on preparation of the first meeting of the seventh Belarusian People's Congress today, Prime Minister Roman Golovchenko disclosed some details of the forthcoming agenda

In particular, the Prime Minister informed that, on the first day, April 24th, there will be many organisational and technical procedures, “The rules of work and statutory documents will be approved, and voting (open and secret) on a number of issues will be organised. In accordance with the legislation, voting by secret ballot will be held on the candidacy of the Chairman of the Belarusian People’s Congress and his deputy. The composition of the Presidium will also be considered.” The latter will include no more than 15 people.

According to Roman Golovchenko, on the first day of the work of the Belarusian People’s Congress, the President is planned to deliver a speech, which will, most likely, open the meeting.

On the second day, April 25th, the delegates will be presented with drafts of such strategically important documents for the country as the National Security Concept and the Military Doctrine. “Earlier, they were considered at meetings of the Security Council, and now, in accordance with the new Constitution, they are subject to approval by the Belarusian People's Congress,” the Prime Minister clarified.

Roman Golovchenko added that, given the importance of the above-mentioned documents, certain debates are expected, since delegates will certainly want to ask questions to the speakers.
