The decision to send a Mi-8 helicopter and a group of specialists to Turkiye was made by the President of Belarus, Aleksandr Lukashenko.

Belarusian rescuers have been rendering assistance to other countries in the fight against natural disasters for several years: i.e. the Emergencies Ministry’s aviation was involved in extinguishing forest fires on the territory of Greece, Russia, Latvia and Georgia, and it also helped the flood-affected residents of Serbia.
