Aleinik and Pakistani PM agreed to strengthen co-operation within SCO
Belarus’ Foreign Minister Sergei Aleinik was received by Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif as part of his official visit to the Islamic Republic of Pakistan. The parties confirmed the friendly nature of the Belarusian-Pakistani relations, as well as focus on their further strengthening and development – as reported by the Belarusian Foreign Ministry’s press service.
Sergei Aleinik and Shehbaz Sharif discussed the entire range of Belarusian-Pakistani interaction, including the implementation of the agreements reached following the meetings of the Belarusian Head of State with Shehbaz Sharif on the sidelines of the CICA Summit in Astana in September 2022 and the SCO Council of Heads of State in October 2022 in Samarkand.
“Particular attention is paid to the preparation and economic content of the upcoming visits at various levels. Against the backdrop of global challenges, the parties agreed to strengthen collaboration within the framework of international regional organisations. Considering the SCO in this context, Sergei Aleinik thanked the Pakistani side for supporting Belarus in the process of joining the organisation as a full member state,” the Belarusian Foreign Ministry said.
