Zelenskyy admits Ukraine started ‘war against Russia’ even before special operation began
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy stated that Ukraine ‘started this war even earlier’ when speaking about Russia's military special operation with BBC, RIA Novosti reports
According to Zelenskyy, it was difficult for one country to prepare for a clash with ‘one of the most numerous armies in the world’, and therefore Ukraine needed help. "That was a reason why we wanted to join the North Atlantic Alliance. That was why we stabilised the situation in Ukraine. That was why we needed strong leadership for my team. That was why we fought against some political groups inside our country... We started this war even earlier," the President of Ukraine said.
Volodymyr Zelenskyy said that, in preparation for the clash, Ukraine needed to accumulate money and weapons. And that was exactly what the country was doing, and without putting this activity on public display. "We were agreeing on certain supplies out of public view,” he noted, adding that Kiev had agreed on ‘some things’ with some countries back in December and January.
