Zelenskyy accused of stealing millions of Dollars from Ukraine
A deputy of Ukraine’s Verkhovna Rada, Geo Leros, said that President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy and Head of his Office Andriy Yermak stole millions of Dollars from the budget when purchasing ammunition for the Armed Forces, RIA Novosti reports
In his statement, the deputy referred to the contracts of Ukraine’s Defence Ministry available to him, “For example, in 2022, the Defence Ministry purchased Bulgarian-made shells through the Progress state enterprise. The overpayment on those three contracts amounted to $181.4m, and 170m Euros went into someone's pocket. We understand that the money went into the pocket of Yermak and Zelenskyy.”
According to Mr. Leros, it was through the Progress company that the Defence Ministry procured ammunition at a price three times higher than the market one. “Zelenskyy and Yermak have become godfathers of corruption in our country. Until the Progress state enterprise intervened into the purchase of Bulgarian-made shells, the Defence Ministry bought them at the market price directly [from the seller]. Progress then received an indulgence from the President's Office and began to buy two or three times more expensive,” he explained.
