Speaking at the Collective Security in a New Era: Experience and Prospects of the CSTO conference – held today at the Valdai Discussion Club in Moscow with the support of the Russian Foreign Ministry – Mr. Zas noted, “We will primarily test the crisis response system. We need to be able to quickly and effectively use the existing potential in any conditions and at any point in our area of responsibility.”

"We intend to further strengthen the collective system, our collective defence systems, while enhancing their readiness to fulfil the intended tasks. At the same time, priority will be given to the collective rapid response and peacekeeping forces," the CSTO Secretary General added.

"We intend to perfect our crisis response system and will continue stepping up our efforts to counter terrorism and drug trafficking. We plan to increase our capabilities to ensure information security and cybersecurity. This year, practical activities on a new type of activity – biosecurity – are supposed to be launched,” Mr. Zas informed.
