The politician shared his point of view in an article posted on Facebook by his secretary Yuri Kirasir.

In particular, Mr. Yanukovych said that the statehood of Ukraine is in extreme danger – being under a threat of complete destruction. Moreover, it is not only about the risk of losing large territories in the south and east of the country. "It is not so simple on Ukraine’s western borders as well. Poland remembers not only September 1939, but it has not also forgotten March 1923, when, in Paris, the ambassadors of the Entente countries finally included the territories of Eastern Galicia and the western part of Volhynia in the Second RzechPospolita,” he noted.

According to Mr. Yanukovych, the current rapprochement with Poland might result in a situation where Ukraine will be forced to actually merge with Poland, as there will be a threat of its economic failure to defend its sovereignty. "This will crown the realisation of the European dream, for which the Ukrainian people allegedly went to their last Maidan," the politician summed up.
