Xie Xiaoyong: China-Belarus relations moved to new level relying on good foundation

Chinese-Belarusian relations have moved to a new level on the basis of the existing good foundation – as stated by Xie Xiaoyong, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the People’s Republic of China to the Republic of Belarus, speaking today at the presentation of the Year of the Rabbit postage project from the Oriental Calendar series (an artistic postage stamp, a first-day envelope and a special commemorative stamp), BelTA reports

The head of the diplomatic mission stressed, “Last year, Chinese-Belarusian relations once again improved their quality and moved to a new level based on the existing good foundation, making a historical leap.”

“In September 2022, China’s President Xi Jinping and Belarus’ President Aleksandr Lukashenko, during a bilateral meeting in Samarkand, decided to upgrade Chinese-Belarusian relations to the level of an all-weather and comprehensive strategic partnership, giving new impetus to the bilateral interaction across various fields,” the diplomat recalled. “I would like to take this opportunity to express my heartfelt gratitude to all my friends who have made an active contribution to the development of China-Belarus relationships.”

He expressed confidence that in the future the parties will promote Chinese-Belarusian collaboration across various fields with even greater determination and efficiency.

“In ten days, we will celebrate the 31st anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Belarus. Thanks to the strategic leadership and common concern of the two heads of state, as well as the joint efforts of various bodies and friends from various circles of the two countries, China-Belarus liaisons in various areas will undoubtedly open even broader development prospects,” Xie Xiaoyong stressed.
