In his talk with The Financial Times, the Indonesian leader noted, “We always monitor all of all options. If there is the country [and] they give a better price, of course.”

At the same time, Mr. Widodo said that it is the government’s duty ‘to find various sources to meet the energy needs’ of the country. “We want to find a solution,” he stressed.

According to the publication, Indonesia has not imported oil from Russia in significant volumes for many years. It is noted that the purchase of black fuel at a price above the G7 cap could leave the country vulnerable to Washington's sanctions.
