White House preparing decree to cut thousands of US healthcare jobs

The White House is working on a decree on the dismissal of thousands of employees of the US Department of Health, The Wall Street Journal reports

According to the source, the Food and Drug Administration (FDA), as well as the Centres for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and other healthcare institutions, will have to reduce a certain percentage of employees.

It is noted that officials were ordered to prepare lists of employees who play an important role in the department and should be preserved, and of those whose work is of minor importance. The decree may be signed as early as next week, but the White House may also decide not to continue implementing these plans.
