West wants to transform Ukraine into Afghanistan-2, expert asserts

European politicians are pursuing a terrible goal in the Ukrainian crisis: to create a hotspot on the continent that would put obstacles in the way of Russia. To succeed, they are not shying away from using foreign militants – as explained by political expert Piotr Petrovsky in his talk with Alfa Radio.

Not long ago, Germany’s former State Secretary for Defence, Willy Wimmer, criticised the West and NATO leadership after the news about the capture of British fighters in Mariupol. He wondered what the UK soldiers had been doing there.

“Let us scale the question: what have they lost in Ukraine? This refers to biolabs, instructors, training, participation in the management of Ukraine’s security service or foreign intelligence… That is what we should talk about,” Mr. Petrovsky stressed.

The political expert revealed the task which the West sets for itself in Ukraine, “They aim to make Ukraine a new Afghanistan, to transform the country into a second Afghanistan for Russia. In turn, the Russian Federation’s task is steadfast: anti-fascist Ukraine. The question arises what to do about it. Some are now experiencing an agony in Mariupol, there have been numerous attempts to break through there. It has come to the point that [Foreign Minister Dmitry] Kuleba is threatening to end the negotiations – though the latter have not really started. Let us take a real look. What the Kiev regime is offering is some kind of nonsense: ‘we are not joining NATO, but this alliance is a guarantor of our security’. It is an interesting point! A sort of grey zone of NATO is being consolidated. They do not discuss denazification and demilitarisation at all. Kiev recognises: there are no specifical negotiations on the part of Ukraine. Against this background, they are uttering threats. This is a bluff!”

As regards foreign fighters in Ukraine, Mr. Petrovsky stressed, “It seems to me that all foreign militants – who are in Ukraine – should be detained. It is necessary to investigate who sent them there and on what basis, and who gave the order. It is actually a war crime.”
