Welcome to Belarus for vaccination

Foreigners are coming to Belarus to be vaccinated – following the Presidential decree envisaging that, until December 31rd, 2022, a visa-free procedure for foreign citizens of 73 countries for entry, temporary stay and departure from Belarus (for the period of up to five days) with the aim of vaccination against COVID-19 is in force.

By now, in the Gomel Region alone, more than a hundred of citizens of Ukraine, Russia, Sri Lanka, Turkmenistan and Germany have received the first shot. Among them is the First Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Ukraine, Piotr Simonenko, who appreciates a high level of medical care in Belarus. He explains, “My endless requests in Ukraine to enable their citizens to use the ‘Sputnik V’ vaccine remained unanswered – although this vaccine was developed on the basis of the Soviet school of immunology and virology. With this in view, it produces more trust than western vaccines. However, because of the external influence, the Ukrainian leadership’s attitude to the Russian vaccine is extremely negative.”

Mr. Simonenko compared the healthcare systems of the two countries and shared his impressions, “While being vaccinated in Belarus, I once again got convinced of what the state, affordable and free medicine looks like. Here, in Gomel, I saw a clear structure where twelve largest medical centres of the city are in constant communication with the central polyclinic.”
