According to Jacek Sasin, the point is that it should not only be a logistics hub for the big reconstruction effort, but that it should be a financial centre that would unite the funds that serve to restore Ukraine.

He added that ‘there were talks with officials from the UN, which is setting up an international fund to support the reconstruction of Ukraine’.

“We’ll advocate for the office of this fund to be based in Poland, in Warsaw,” noted the Deputy Prime Minister.

According to the Polish border guard, since February 24th, more than 3.57 million refugees from Ukraine have arrived in Poland. More than 1.5 million of them can choose Poland as their permanent residence.
