Warehouses hold two weeks’ supply of food for refugees

About 800 refugees continue to stay in the transport and logistics centre near the Bruzgi checkpoint. They are daily provided with hot food, as well as essential items and medicines.

A member of the Council of the Republic of the National Assembly of the Republic of Belarus, Director of the Grodno Regional Drama Theatre, Igor Gedich, comments the events, “Today is the 37th day in the refugee camp and we continue to provide assistance to refugees at the border. Protection, security and provision of people with food and warm clothes are carried out in a planned manner. At the same time, we continue to pay attention to all other vital aspects. All services work as usual, there are enough products and other means to ensure the life of people. As far as medical support is concerned, an ambulance team continues to be on duty at the building of the transport and logistics centre. There is currently a need for some medicines, but they promise to satisfy the application in the near future. Over the past day, about a hundred people have asked for medical help. Six adults are inpatient treatment: three women at the perinatal centre and three men at the Grodno University Hospital. Their condition doesn’t raise concerns.”
