Vulin: BRICS becoming important and strong organisation, Serbia wants to learn more about its capabilities

BRICS is becoming a very important and very strong organisation, and Serbia wants to know more about what BRICS is – as stated by the Deputy Prime Minister of Serbia, Aleksandar Vulin, at the 17th Verona Eurasian Economic Forum

“The European Union is urging us to impose sanctions against Russia, but we will not do this, we do not want this. In turn, BRICS does not ask for anything like that, it does not demand anything. The BRICS countries are not demanding sanctions: they have offered a wonderful opportunity to become part of the economy that covers half the world. We want to understand how BRICS wants to expand – i.e. whether this organisation wants to become part of specific economies of countries, how the security issue will be resolved, and so on," the Deputy Prime Minister of Serbia stressed.

Aleksandar Vulin shared his impressions of the participation in the BRICS forum in Kazan, “A hope was voiced there: if you represent a country with the population of only 7m people, then you can participate in BRICS on an equal basis – just like a country with a billion residents. It is foolish to think that it is possible to isolate Russia, that it is possible to create fear around China, or that the UAE will cease to be independent if it joins BRICS. It is stupid, and stupidity is dangerous.”

On December 6th, the Verona Eurasian Economic Forum in Ras Al Khaimah (UAE) is continuing its work – focusing on such issues as new technologies, ensuring food security in the world, infrastructure and transport, combating desertification, social development as a condition for creating an inclusive economy.
