Volfovich revealed details of the President’s meeting: people in uniform should never be complacent

The state system for responding to acts of terrorism and the actions of the immediate reaction forces in the country have been worked out. However, the military cannot be complacent – as stated to journalists by State Secretary of the Security Council of Belarus Aleksandr Volfovich, commenting on the meeting with the President on the results of the inspection of the country’s security bloc.

Aleksandr Volfovich recalled that on behalf of the President, a comprehensive inspection of the forces and means of the state system for responding to acts of terrorism and the activities of illegal armed groups was carried out, and the second stage was an inspection of the readiness of the immediate reaction forces and means. The media covered in detail the inspection of the country’s security bloc, which lasted for several weeks.

“These activities were carried out in full and are now completed. The results were reported to the Head of State, who set the task of conducting a detailed analysis of the activities. Today, in the presence of ministers and commanders, it was reported how the inspection was carried out. A detailed analysis of the issues took place, with particular attention being paid to what did not work. In general, the state system for responding to acts of terrorism and the actions of the immediate reaction forces has been worked out and is ready. On the whole, units and subdivisions coped with the tasks. But there is no need to be complacent.”

The State Secretary of the Security Council added that the Commander-in-Chief was primarily interested in details and nuances, “Strict instructions were given because of the current situation... People in uniform should never be complacent, but today – based on the situation near our borders (we analyse the actions of our neighbours’ militarisation, taking into account their aggressive plans and invasive thoughts) – we must prepare our forces so that they can at any moment go out and fulfil their tasks and, above all, ensure the security of our country and our people.”

The Head of State also announced specific tasks during the meeting, adding what still needs to be corrected and improved.

“The most important thing is that everything is here. It is necessary to carry out qualitatively what is planned: to work out combat training programmes, to prepare young people, officers of all security agencies to perform tasks as intended. This was the main emphasis during this meeting,” Aleksandr Volfovich said.

The State Secretary of the Security Council also added that the inspection of the security bloc showed that our soldiers are focused and motivated to perform their tasks perfectly.

“They understand that the lives of their families and loved ones are behind them, they provide their protection and guarantee the security of the country,” he summed up.
