A real information war has been unleashed against Belarus – as stressed by the State Secretary of Belarus’ Security Council, Aleksandr Volfovich, during his visit to the Borisov District, BelTA reports

During his meeting with activists of the district and the military of the Borisov garrison, Mr. Volfovich stressed that the Belarusian Armed Forces are not participating in combat activities on the territory of Ukraine at the moment and have no plans to do so.

"Hotheads have unleashed a real war against Belarus in the information space; facts of outright lies are increasingly surfacing. Fakes about the mass conscription of young men for military service are being spread and pseudo-letters from military enlistment offices are being demonstrated. There is misinformation about unscheduled mobilisation measures as well. A hype about the upcoming ‘collapse’ of the banking system, the ‘shortage’ of food and medicines is being artificially created. Such fake news aims to split the Belarusian society, generate doubts in people’s minds, sow chaos and discord in our home,” Mr. Volfovich said.

The State Secretary of the Security Council, however, added that Belarusian Armed Forces will protect our land, our people, our national interests – if the need arises.
