Volfovich: Day of Fatherland Defenders is a symbol of the indomitable spirit of Belarusians

Day of Fatherland Defenders is a symbol of the indomitable spirit of the Belarusian people – as noted by the State Secretary of the Security Council, Aleksandr Volfovich, during today’s solemn assembly and festive concert dedicated to Day of Fatherland Defenders and the 105th anniversary of the Armed Forces of Belarus

“Our country will celebrate tomorrow one of the most significant holidays for those who have chosen the protection of the Fatherland as their profession, for those who – at different times – wear shoulder straps to defend their people and their land: Day of Fatherland Defenders and the Armed Forces of Belarus. This year is especially symbolic and solemn. In 2023, our Armed Forces celebrate 105 years since their formation," Mr. Volfovich said. “Symbolically, this holiday is not only for the country’s military in Belarus, for all Belarusian people: it is a symbol of the indomitable spirit of Belarusians who are always ready to lend a shoulder to officers and soldiers in a difficult time. Based on this, modern attempts to distort our history by speculating on this holiday of military glory are doomed to failure.”

As noted by Mr. Volfovich, those who died for the freedom and independence of their Motherland at different times are remembered and heroes are glorified on this day. “We are proud of the feat of the internationalist soldiers, we pay tribute to the current defenders of the Fatherland. In the most difficult conditions of the military-political situation in the world, and around the Republic of Belarus, the current generation of military personnel of all power structures of the state’s military organisation is able and ready to repel any aggressor. Be sure: the military of all law enforcement agencies are able to protect their people and their land today,” he said.

In conclusion, the State Secretary of the Security Council congratulated on the upcoming holiday and fulfilled the honourable mission to extend congratulations on behalf of the President of Belarus, Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces.
