Volfovich: Belarus will not go to war against Ukraine

The State Secretary of the Security Council of Belarus, Aleksandr Volfovich, has announced Belarus’ fundamentally peaceful position in relation to Ukraine

“There are a lot of fakes stating that Belarus is about to enter the war against Ukraine. Belarus will not enter the war against Ukraine. They have been attempting to draw us in and unleash a conflict on the border territory with Belarus for a long time. The creation of a group of 30,000 [military] – which are now stationed on the territory of Poland under the guise of a migration crisis – was also an attempt to provoke us into a border conflict, and then to move on to global action. We have not risen to it. We have not taken our military units from the points of their permanent deployment – though they are constantly in a state of readiness to protect our country. Therefore, we will not be drawn into this conflict; we do not need it. However, we will defend our territory if necessary, we will protect our people and ensure the security of our country,” Mr. Volfovich stressed.
