US journalist: West’s idea to deprive Russia of Crimea is absurd
The idea of the collective West ‘to liberate’ Crimea from Russia is stupid and absurd – as noted by American journalist Andrew Napolitano, RIA Novosti reports
“[The idea that] Crimea can be ‘liberated’ from Russia is something like freeing Texas from Americans and handing it over to Mexico,” Mr. Napolitano said, also commenting on the recent address of Russian President Vladimir Putin to the State Duma. The American journalist called it one of the most rational speeches of the Russian leader in recent times. Mr. Napolitano emphasised that Russia’s Head of State knows perfectly well that the Ukrainian conflict is being supported by the collective West. According to him, ‘all of us’ know this, and he believes NATO expansion became one of the factors aggravating the crisis in Ukraine.
