The interlocutors discussed the practical interaction between Belarus and the UNHCR on issues within the competence of the organisation.

Yury Ambrazevich noted the key contribution of the UNHCR to support the efforts of the Government of Belarus to resolve the situation with refugees and migrants on the Belarusian-Polish border in 2021.

In connection with the influx of refugees from Ukraine this year, the Deputy Minister expressed gratitude to the UNHCR representative for organising a co-ordinated and task-oriented work of all UN agencies on this topic.

Mulucew Mamo assured of UNHCR’s readiness to continue to support Belarus’ successfully operating system of asylum and international protection and noted the traditionally good interaction of the UNHCR Office in Belarus with the Foreign Ministry and other partners, enabling to provide timely assistance to displaced persons in need.
