UN urged Ukraine to comply with Geneva conventions on prisoners of war
Stephane Dujarric, the UN Secretary General’s spokesman, said he had not watched the video of the torture of Russian prisoners of war in Ukraine but emphasised the need to comply with the Geneva Convention Relative to the Treatment of Prisoners of War – as reported by RIA Novosti

Footage has been posted on the Internet featuring Russian prisoners of war who were shot in their legs. It took place at a base of Ukrainian nationalists in the Kharkov Region.
On March 27th, the Head of Russia’s Investigative Committee, Alexander Bastrykin, ordered to establish all the circumstances of mistreatment of the captured servicemen of Russia by Ukrainian nationalists.
"We have not seen this video, but we consider it important that all captured servicemen be treated in accordance with the Geneva conventions," Mr. Dujarric explained.
