“I thank both Poland and Belarus for their openness. I was granted access to all the objects as requested. I had the opportunity to meet with representatives of all authorities," the UN representative said.

The Special Rapporteur appreciated the provision by the Belarusian authorities of a trade and logistics centre at the disposal of migrants, which helped to save them from cold and hunger.

Gonzalez Morales said that he visited the Bruzgi checkpoint, met with representatives of local authorities, the State Border Committee, and the Belarusian Foreign Ministry.

"Of course, I will continue close communication with the governments of Belarus and Poland – sending them a preliminary version of my report first of all. It will include information from both international and local public organisations,” the UN representative added.
