UN General Assembly President intends to start negotiations on Security Council reforms
Hungarian diplomat Csaba Kőrösi, who was sworn in yesterday as the President of the 77th UN General Assembly, advocates reforming the United Nations Security Council so that this institution becomes more representative and efficient, TASS reports
Csaba Kőrösi said that he had closely followed the process of discussing the reform for twenty years, heard all the arguments and watched all the efforts. “I will appoint new curators, I will ask to start negotiations on specific proposals,” said the President of the 77th session of the UN General Assembly.
“We need a larger, more representative and more responsive Security Council. I will do my best to advance this process,” Csaba Kőrösi summed up.
Earlier, he called for an immediate ceasefire in Ukraine.
