“There is much grain on the territory of the Mariupol port – including corn and wheat grain. Apparently, most of it has already been destroyed and cannot be used, since the enemy – while retreating from the port – set fire to the granaries so that it would not be sent to the Donetsk People's Republic. We spent several days to extinguish the fire, but failed,” Mr. Gagin explained.

The official added that several tonnes of agricultural products had been lost. “They are unlikely to be used for their intended purpose – even as fodder for cattle,” Mr. Gagin noted.

The Donetsk People's Republic authorities believe the grain was damaged intentionally.
