Ukraine called on West to increase arms supplies

The West should increase arms supplies to Ukraine because Kiev fears an aggravation of the conflict – as noted by Anton Gerashchenko, Advisor to the Minister of Internal Affairs of Ukraine, RIA Novosti reports

Gerashchenko urges Kiev’s Western allies to provide Ukraine with more HIMARS artillery rocket systems, as well as tanks and armoured vehicles.

“We are asking for more weapons. We are not asking you to fight for us,” Gerashchenko added.

He said that the Ukrainian side fears an escalation of the conflict after the incident with the Crimean bridge.
