According to The Times, it currently costs the UK about seven million Pounds a day to accommodate migrants in hotels. The United Kingdom spends more than two billion Pounds a year on this.

British Home Secretary Suella Braverman instructed the responsible persons to find new places where a large number of people can be accommodated to reduce costs. In addition to ships and dormitories, officials are considering the possibility of using caravan and recreation parks, as well as abandoned military bases for this purpose.

The Times recalled that, during the summer election campaign, Prime Minister Rishi Sunak promised to find ‘thousands of new beds’ for migrants – using both old resources and offering new ideas to solve the problem, including the use of cruise ships.
