UK deprived illegal migrants of opportunity to apply for citizenship

The UK government has tightened migration rules, depriving illegal migrants of the opportunity to apply for citizenship, TASS reports

As noted, any individual applying for British citizenship from February 10th, 2025, who has previously arrived in the country without the necessary valid entry permit or electronic travel authorisation, having made a dangerous journey, will normally be refused citizenship.

Dangerous journey means crossing the English Channel on inflatable boats, arriving in the UK in the boot of a car or in the back of a lorry. These are the most common ways in which illegal migrants reach the UK.
