Turnout totals 24.07% after three days of early voting

During the three days of early voting, 24.07 percent of the citizens included in the lists of referendum participants have already taken part in the constitutional referendum – as reported by the Central Election Commission (CEC)

The top three are the Gomel Region, where the percentage of voters stood at 27.61 percent, the Mogilev Region which saw 26.34 percent and the Brest Region, where 25.07 percent of citizens cast their ballots. The Minsk Region is next in line with 24.23 percent, followed by the Vitebsk Region (23.83 percent) and the Grodno Region (20.85 percent).

The smallest number of early voters is registered in the city of Minsk: 20.79 percent of the citizens included in the lists of referendum participants received ballot papers.

Early voting for the constitutional referendum will be running through February 26th, with polling stations open from 10am to 2pm and from 4pm to 7pm. Official confirmation of the reasons why a person cannot vote on the main election day is not necessary.

The CEC reminds that citizens who are registered in one place and want to cast their ballots at their place of residence must present a document confirming their place of residence to members of the election commission. The election commission will consider each specific case and make a decision.
