Turkiye complained of pressure from the West because of Russia

Western countries have been demanding Turkiye to impose sanctions against Russia for almost a year and a half – as stated by Ibrahim Kalin, the official representative of the Turkish President, Recep Tayyip Erdogan, RIA Novosti reports

"Haven’t other countries put pressure on us? Of course, they have. For a year and a half, Western countries have been exerting unthinkable pressure on us, come and demand sanctions, ask why we co-operate with Russia, and so on. We have not listened to anyone, we held a ceremony of delivering the first batch of fuel to the Akkuyu NPP," he said.

Mr. Kalin earlier noted that sanctions against Moscow would primarily play against Ankara itself.
