Turkiye can always count on Belarus: Lukashenko congratulated Erdogan on his re-election as President

The President of Belarus, Aleksandr Lukashenko, has congratulated Recep Tayyip Erdogan on his re-election as President of Turkiye, the Belarusian leader’s press service reports

"Your convincing victory in a very difficult campaign, which was followed all over the world, is the highest indicator of trust on the part of the Turkish people. Important socio-political events in Turkiye coincided with severe trials after the natural disaster, but – despite that challenge – stability in a society, for which you are doing everything possible and even more, has been maintained. I consider you a worthy, strong politician and a good friend of Belarus. We have the same interests in de-escalating the international situation, ensuring food security and peaceful settlement of disputes. You can always count on us," the congratulatory message reads.

Aleksandr Lukashenko noted that he expects an early meeting with the President of Turkiye in accordance with the agreements reached in October 2022 in Astana.

"I am confident that the relations of trust and mutual respect that have developed between Minsk and Ankara over many decades will continue to strengthen for the benefit of our countries and peoples," the Belarusian leader stressed.

The Head of State wished Recep Tayyip Erdogan health, prosperity and every success in his noble deeds, also wishing peace, stability and prosperity to the friendly Turkish people.
