The presidents of Russia and Turkiye, Vladimir Putin and Tayyip Erdogan, earlier instructed to carefully study the issue of creating a gas hub in Turkiye – through which, in particular, the Russian Federation could shift gas transit from the Nord Streams to the Black Sea region and Turkiye. Tayyip Erdogan believes Europe can receive Russian gas through Turkiye.

“Europe depends on Russian gas, and it will spend the winter in great tension. It is now necessary to take new steps and go to new constructions. With this in view, President Erdogan said it is necessary to take measures so that Turkiye – which will become a hub – can distribute Iranian and Russian gas to Europe," Mr. Nebati explained in an interview with Arab News.

The Minister of Treasury and Finance believes such a step can help establish peace in the region and create safe conditions for the transportation of energy carriers. “This is the leading solution to the problem of high prices that have led the world into recession. In this sense, as our President said, it is good that Turkiye is ready to take full responsibility and take a step to relieve the whole world, especially Europe, in this gas struggle," the Turkish newspaper Star quotes Mr. Nebati as saying.
