Turkish Foreign Minister: Ankara opposes any unilateral sanctions
Ankara does not support restrictions imposed on various countries unilaterally, without the UN support – as stated by Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu, RIA Novosti reports
Before his meeting in India with Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov, Mevlut Cavusoglu was asked how long Ankara would be able to resist the imposition of sanctions against Russia.
“We have no need to resist, we make our own decisions as a sovereign state. We are not joining any unilateral sanctions, and we support only those imposed with the UN support. So this applies not only to Russia; we also do not support sanctions against Iran or any other country,” the Turkish Foreign Minister stressed, adding, “We make decisions on our own. No one can put pressure on us.”
