In 1974, The Three Musketeers musical by Maksim Dunaevsky was premiered in the USSR – based on Mark Rozovsky’s libretto and Yuri Ryashentsev’s text. Four years later, D'Artagnan and Three Musketeers three-part swashbuckler musical miniseries – directed by Georgy Yungvald Khilkevich – were screened, which songs were later sung by millions of film lovers.

A young director of the Belarusian State Academic Musical Theatre, Valeria Chigileichik, decided to turn to Maksim Dunaevsky’s legacy and create a new look at her favourite characters. As reported by musicaltheatre.by, a premiere show will present a modern perspective of the novel. Production designer Andrei Merenkov, costume director Ilya Podkopaev and choreographer Yekaterina Kovalenko have also worked over the production. The musical will be conducted by Yuri Galyas.

Fans of adventure and good music are invited to the opening night’s performance of The Three Musketeers on September 23rd and 24th.
