The world must be protected
Belarus has begun deploying a regional force grouping of the Union State. This step was taken strictly within the framework of existing documents and agreements in response to the growing military threats.
Aleksandr Lukashenko and Vladimir Putin agreed on this matter in St. Petersburg during an informal CIS summit. It should be said right away that these actions are clearly spelled out in our integration documents. Russia and Belarus have never concealed that in the event of serious threats, they are ready to jointly defend themselves against them. Back in 1998, the Concept of a joint defence policy was adopted. And a year later, the Russian-Belarusian group of troops was created. In 2001, the Military Doctrine of the Union State was adopted. It directly stated that in the event of a threat to the independence of the territorial integrity of Belarus, our ally would use all means for joint defence. In 2009, a unified regional air defence system was created.
The President of Belarus, Aleksandr Lukashenko,
“We must not let them drag us into the war. This is our main task. There should be no war on the territory of Belarus. And we, the military, must take all measures to prevent it from happening. If the threat level reaches the current level, as it is now, we begin to use the Union State grouping. The basis (I have always said this) of this group is the army, the Armed Forces of the Republic of Belarus. I must inform you that the formation of this group has begun.”

At the end of 2021, Russia and Belarus adopted a new edition of the joint Military Doctrine. It takes into account the sharply aggravated military-political situation. In fact, the aggressive NATO bloc has put forward an offensive military infrastructure to our borders. Ukraine is being used as a kamikaze state to undermine peace and stability in the post-Soviet space. The doctrine analyses the hybrid nature of modern armed conflicts, emphasising the importance of the coalition component. That is, in the current conditions, even the largest powers, in order to fully ensure their military security, are forced to resort to the help of their allies.
During the special military operation that began on February 24th, our country behaves on the basis of its own national interests and its allied obligations. Predictable and open. We provide worldwide support to Russia, as we share the stated goals of the SMO. At the same time, the Belarusian Armed Forces do not take part in the conflict. Only ensure the security of our borders. In this regard, the periodically stated claims of the Ukrainian side and the Western masters of the Kiev regime look absurd. After all, it is Zelenskyy and his team that have been pursuing an extremely unfriendly policy towards Belarus over the past two years. They provided their territory for the base of extremists who set as their goal a coup d’état in our country. With the approval of the ruling circles of Ukraine, a frank anti-Belarusian propaganda campaign was launched in the press.
And yet, Belarus, stepping over past grievances, fought and is fighting for peace. Aleksandr Lukashenko made incredible efforts in March to organise the negotiation process. Then it seemed that common sense prevailed among Zelenskyy and his entourage. There was a fragile hope for a settlement of the conflict. But a cry followed from Washington and London, and the Kiev leaders, having taken a stand, obediently continued to throw their people into a bloody war. The Western masters trained the Armed Forces of Ukraine, armed them to the teeth. Taking advantage of the fact that Russia, for various reasons, did not deploy a large grouping of its troops for several months, they went on the offensive. In September, the Kiev regime managed to achieve success at the front. This turned brains of many. At the highest level there were threats against Belarus, just frank abuse and complete rudeness.
Western intelligence agencies have launched a mechanism for the radicalisation of the self-exiled opposition. Direct training is carried out on the territory of Ukraine. Thus, the training base for saboteurs from among the traitors to the Motherland was created in the 8th separate special-purpose regiment (military unit A0553) of the special operations forces of Ukraine.
The temporary successes of the Armed Forces of Ukraine at the front, the attack on the Crimean bridge pushed the hottest heads in the Kiev offices and headquarters to another adventure — planning an attack on Belarus. Our management reacted instantly. The President held a series of measures to prevent war.
After all, all the latest meetings with the security forces, exercises, combat readiness checks are designed to show the potential enemy our readiness to repel aggression. We took an extraordinary step — the generals began to hold meetings in labour collectives in order to explain the current situation. And this is also a preventive measure, demonstrating that we all know, we see, we are ready to respond. After all, the worst thing for attackers is when their plans are revealed. In this case, they become hysterical and tear about. This is what we see in Kiev today.
However, the Western approach is striking. ‘Think tanks’ are trying to convince Belarusians of the need to distance themselves from Russia through various propaganda resources. Who do they take us for? What is all this bluff about? The Belarusian leadership, citizens are well aware that the goal of the West in Ukraine is to defeat Russia, and in this case, our state will face a mortal threat...
The creation of a regional grouping also has an economic dimension. One of the goals of the enemy is to undermine our economy. They dream that we would use all our resources for defence, get involved in an arms race. Some time ago, a decision was made in Belarus to establish the
Southern Operational Command. This implies the formation of one or two new mechanised brigades, artillery and engineering units. There is a corresponding plan. The situation requires speeding up the process, which means unforeseen financial expenses. But the coalition actions that are being taken now can significantly save money. It is worth emphasising again. Everyone is well aware of the peacefulness and kindness of the Belarusians. They don’t need proof. But another feature of our character is the ability to protect our home, our land. And loyalty to brotherly duty. Our history knows many examples of this. Therefore, it will not advise anyone to test our President, our people for the weak. Thus, we will not back down.
