Lukashenko: US wants to unleash war with help of Poland, Baltic States and Ukraine

The United States wants to unleash war here, using Poland, the Baltic States, Ukraine and the migration crisis on the border of Belarus – as stated by the President of Belarus, Aleksandr Lukashenko, at a joint meeting of the Constitutional Commission and the working group on finalising the draft Constitution, BelTA reports

“They need to get closer to Moscow. This ‘balcony’ here obstructs them; they need to cut it off. They will cut it,” the Head of State noted.

The migration crisis on the Belarus-EU border is used as an excuse. "These poor people are looking for a hole to slip through, and so they have chosen Belarus. However, Poles immediately took advantage of this situation to realise their strategic goals. This is a stage of the rebellion, or the colour revolution," the Belarusian leader said.

Aleksandr Lukashenko emphasised that he had previously repeatedly spoken about the expectations that ‘something will be definitely thrown to us’ by the West; that is why he kept the situation under control. At the moment, this side is trying to use the refugee situation for its own purposes.

"They are trying to take advantage of these poor refugees, this process. Their goal is already visible. They are already openly saying that they want NATO to get involved. What does this mean? Start a war. They are provoking us. Europe does not need this, Europe does not want a war. Who needs this war? These are Americans,” Aleksandr Lukashenko said, adding, “You see that the monopolar world is disappearing these days. They like to fight with someone else's involvement, and they want to create a mess somewhere here again. They will then observe from aside and supply weapons so that we kill each other and the economy will go down. They will come here again with Dollars they are printing. They will say they want to help us, and America will again, as Trump said, dominate. By and large, that is the reason why all this is being done for. They want to do it using Poles, the Baltic State and Ukrainians."

Aleksandr Lukashenko stressed that Russian President Vladimir Putin and he see what is happening and look at these events in the same way. "It [Russia – BelTA’s remark] is their ultimate target. And how to get there if Ukraine and Belarus [are on their way – BelTA’s remark]? You see what has happened with Ukraine, but Belarus is holding its ground," the Head of State said.

"The situation is not easy now. It is a question how we will get through it and adapt in order to preserve the state. This is my first question. However, you are not bystanders either. At the right moment, I will immediately get you involved into this issue, and we will have to solve it together," the President said.

The Belarusian leader added that Poland uses the migration crisis on the border to divert the attention of its citizens from many domestic problems – i.e. the conflict with the EU over the supremacy of domestic legislation over international law. "According to the EU laws, the European Union has the right to check Poland’s judicial appointments process down to the lowest level [Poland does not agree with this – BelTA’s remark]. Actually, you joined the European Union, signed these norms, why don't you want to fulfil them now? If they do not comply with them, it's a scandal again. Therefore, it is necessary to divert the attention from this scandal with the EU. Meanwhile, the European Union’s pandemic money makes about $100bn. And there is a catastrophe inside as well. So it is necessary to divert the attention from this situation. They are ready to start a war,” the President said.

At the same time, as everyone knows, key decisions in Poland are made not by President Andrzej Duda or Mateusz Morawiecki [Prime Minister of Poland] but by the leader of the ruling Law and Justice Party, Jaroslaw Kaczynski – as Aleksandr Lukashenko noted. "It's not Duda and Morawiecki who rule there, but Mr. Kaczynski. Therefore, they want to retain power in every possible way. They have gained support from Americans who give them money. This is how this curve appeared: Ukraine, Poland, and the Baltic States. The target is the same, as always – it’s there [Moscow – BelTA’s remark]. They cannot step over us yet, and we need to hold out,” the Belarusian Head of State stressed.
