The New Yorker: Pentagon refused to transfer more HIMARS MLRS to Kiev due to declining stocks
The United States does not intend to transfer a large number of HIMARS multiple rocket launchers to Kiev due to limited industrial capacity – as reported by RIA Novosti with reference to the American edition of The New Yorker
The publication refers to a source in the US Department of Defence, whose name is not called.
“We said straightaway that they were not going to get very many of these systems because there simply isn’t an unlimited quantity of these on planet Earth,” he said.
The publication underlines that the cost of one launcher is about $7m.
The interlocutor of the publication noted that recently there have been problems with the supply of air defence systems: the United States simply cannot provide them to Kiev in the amount requested by the Ukrainian authorities.
