The website of Poland’s Masovian Province Police indicates that it all started with a report of an attack on foreign citizens and ended with the seizure of amphetamine. Now the teenager is facing charges for attacking the Belarusians, and his father — for possession of illegal substances.
On October 11th, Plonsk Police received a report of an incident that had taken place the previous evening near a housing estate in Plonsk. Two Belarusian citizens were talking in Russian when three teenagers approached them. One of the teenagers asked the men about their nationality and, after he got an answer, said ‘such people are disliked’.
Following these words, the teenager took out a can of pepper spray and hit the face of the 53-year-old man and his 33-year-old companion with it. He then struck the first man in the head with the can and fled. Law enforcement officers and paramedics arrived at the scene and took the victim to hospital.
The police identified the attacker as a 16-year-old resident of Plonsk. The teenager has been charged with insulting Belarusian citizens on ethnic grounds and causing bodily harm to one of them.
“However, the police did not stop there. During a search of the house where the 16-year-old teenager lives, police officers were looking for a spray can used against the foreigners and found a metal bucket with a plastic bag containing white powder,” the police stated, adding that the teenager's father initially claimed he did not know what it was.
Soon, the man admitted that the drugs belonged to him. He was arrested and taken to the police station. Laboratory tests confirmed that the seized substance was approximately 400 g of amphetamine.
At the request of the prosecutor's office and the investigation, the court imposed a preventive measure on the 46-year-old man in the form of three months' detention. He faces up to 10 years in prison for drug possession.
