Dormition Fast beginning for Orthodox believers
The Dormition Fast has started today for Orthodox believers in memory of the Mother of God, sb.by reports The fast will last two weeks, until August 27th. It begins with Honey, or Poppy (Wet) Saviour. The Dormition Fast is observed the same as Great Lent: strict on weekdays, wine and oil on weekends, and fish on the Transfiguration.
