Tyre producer Michelin to close two plants in France
La Tribune claimed that French tyre producer Michelin intends to shut down two of their plants in France, TASS reports According to the paper, plants located in the western communes of Cholet (Bretagne) and Vannes (Pays de la Loire) and employing 1,254 people in total, will be closed down ‘no later than early 2026’. The management cites ‘declining competitiveness’ against cheap Asian-made tyres, growing inflation, and high energy costs as reasons for the shutdown.
