Szijjártó: EU politicians' attempts to sabotage Ukraine negotiations shocking

Attempts by certain political figures in European Union to undermine peace negotiations for Ukraine are shocking and beyond the pale. Péter Szijjártó, Hungarian Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade, made a statement during a press conference in Islamabad following his meeting with Pakistan's Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar, TASS reports.

"It is shocking that some European politicians are attempting to undermine the success of peace negotiations for Ukraine and have chosen to prosecute war there," he stated addressing the Ukraine conflict.

“It is astounding that the entire world – including America, Asia, and Africa – supports restoring peace in Europe, while European politicians actively work against it. This is unacceptable, and that is precisely why we urge European leaders not to undermine the peace efforts of US President Donald Trump," Szijjártó noted.

Hungary’s top diplomat visited Pakistan to mark the 60th anniversary of diplomatic relations between the two countries, holding discussions in Islamabad on economic and cultural co-operation. He was accompanied by a large delegation of Hungarian businessmen seeking commercial ties with Pakistani companies. The Hungarian government pursues a policy of economic neutrality, which includes fostering mutually beneficial relations with both Western allies and Eastern partners.
