Survey: up to 40% German enterprises likely to cut jobs in 2025
In Germany, four out of ten enterprises plan to reduce the number of jobs in 2025, RIA Novosti reports with reference to a survey conducted by the German Economic Institute (IW)
IW reported on the results of a survey in which 2 thousand enterprises had taken part, “Thirty-eight percent plan to cut jobs in the new year, and only 17 percent are going to hire new employees. Thus, the employment prospects are as bad as during the global financial crisis of 2009."
It is noted that almost 40 percent of the surveyed companies assume that their affairs will worsen next year, the same number of enterprises intend to reduce the volume of investments.
“2024 has become a lost year in terms of economic policy,” IW researcher Michael Gremling said.
