Sultan of Oman arrived in Belarus on official visit

Sultan Haitham bin Tariq Al Said of Oman has arrived to Belarus on an official visit, BelTA reports

Talks at the Palace of Independence will take place later today, October 6th. President of Belarus Aleksandr Lukashenko and Sultan Haitham bin Tariq Al Said will review the implementation of the agreements reached in December 2024 during the Belarusian leader’s visit to Oman and discuss promising ways and avenues to deepen co-operation in various areas, with the main focus on expanding trade and economic liaisons.

Following the negotiations, the parties plan to sign a number of international documents, and an agreement on the mutual abolition of visas (the draft of which was approved by Aleksandr Lukashenko on October 1st) is expected to be one of them.

For its part, the Omani side has announced that the visit will take place on October 6th-7th as part of developing relations between Oman and Belarus to broaden their horizons in line with the aspirations of both countries.
“The visit will discuss areas of co-operation between the two countries in various spheres and means of boosting them to serve the joint interests. The two leaders will exchange views on a set of current regional and international issues. His Majesty the Sultan will be accompanied by a high-ranking official delegation during the visit,” the ONA news agency reported.
