State Secretary of Belarus’ Security Council: Europe doing everything to further escalate Ukraine conflict

In his talk with the First News TV Channel, Aleksandr Volfovich, the State Secretary of the Security Council of Belarus, emphasised that Europe is doing everything to further escalate the Ukrainian conflict

Mr. Volfovich stated that the West wants the conflict in Ukraine to continue, “The West will do nothing to stop the conflict. This is evident from their behaviour and actions,” he said.

The State Secretary of the Security Council highlighted that planes carrying weapons and military equipment are constantly flying, and convoys of vehicles from Poland are heading to Ukraine. “These are not humanitarian aid,” he emphasised.

Mr. Volfovich posed a rhetorical question about what kind of peace Europe can discuss, saying, “Europe is doing everything it can to fuel the flames of war in Ukraine.”

When asked if the resolution of the Ukrainian issue might speed up following improvements in the Middle East situation, Mr. Volfovich responded that it is hard to say.

“The key to ending the Ukrainian conflict (as our President said) is political will,” the State Secretary of the Security Council stated confidently. For this to happen, the leaders of Ukraine and Russia need to come together at the negotiating table and bring the conflict to an immediate end. “In my view, no one besides these two countries will decide to stop this conflict,” Mr. Volfovich said.
