State Border Committee: Lithuania intends to restrict the movement of passenger cars at two checkpoints

Lithuania is considering the issue of restricting the movement of cars at two checkpoints – as reported by the State Border Committee of Belarus in its Telegram channel

According to the Lithuanian Customs Department, this refers to limiting the work of checkpoints Tverečius (Vidzy) and Šumskas (Losha) on the border with Belarus. From the information of the Lithuanian side, it follows that traffic for passenger cars through these checkpoints will be allowed only during the daytime.

Restrictions may be introduced by the end of the year. Lithuania cites the lack of X-ray equipment, the risk of corruption and smuggling as reasons for this decision.
