Starlink will soon suspend its work in Russia, Belarus and some other countries

Starlink – a satellite internet constellation operated by SpaceX – will not work in Belarus, China, Russia and some other countries in the near future – as confirmed by the data of the current coverage map published on the Starlink website, TASS reports

The map highlights areas Starlink already serves, areas where the network will operate soon, those already available for pre-order, and locations awaiting coverage or regulatory approval. Afghanistan, Belarus, Venezuela, Iran, China, North Korea, Cuba, Russia and Syria do not fall into any of these categories. Part of the territory of the DPR and LPR is not marked on the map either.

“Starlink is not yet available in your region due to regulatory approval pending. As approvals are received, our coverage area will continue to expand, so please check the availability in your region in the future”, says the message that appears when trying to order network connection to addresses located in the indicated countries.

The Starlink network provides Internet access by deploying a large number of devices weighing 260kg. The company says it will be able to provide broadband network access at 1Gbps, which is in line with the 5G standard.

On September 18th, SpaceX launched another batch of 54 Starlink satellites into orbit. After that, its owner, Elon Musk, wrote on his Twitter account that the company’s Internet network became available on all continents of the Earth. The total number of devices delivered into outer space exceeds 3,000.
